Editorial Standards & Research Integrity
How VERALIS EVIDENCE PRESS safeguards independent editorial decision-making and upholds rigorous, honestly reported research.
1. Editorial Independence
Editorial decisions are made independently, based solely on scholarly merit and relevance — never on commercial, financial, or political interests.
Authority: Editors have full authority over content and the timing of publication for their journals.
Basis for decisions: Decisions are based on validity, importance, originality, and fit with scope, following peer review.
No pay-to-publish: Acceptance is never conditioned on payment of any charge; article processing charges (where applicable) are handled separately and after editorial decisions, and finance and marketing functions have no influence on editorial decisions.
Publisher's role: The publisher supports and does not override editorial judgment.
Conflicts of interest: Editors recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where they have a conflict of interest.
2. Research Integrity
We promote rigorous, reproducible, and honestly reported research and act on integrity concerns.
Reporting standards: authors should follow relevant reporting guidelines (e.g., CONSORT, PRISMA, STROBE, ARRIVE) appropriate to the study type.
Reproducibility: we encourage sharing of data, code, and materials (see Data Availability) and complete methods reporting.
Image and data integrity: manipulation that misrepresents results is prohibited; images may be screened; original data may be requested.
Citation integrity: citations must be relevant and honest; coercive or manipulative citation is prohibited.
Investigations: integrity concerns are handled confidentially, proportionately, and with due process (Doc 5 SOP-22), in cooperation with institutions where appropriate.
